If you think about it, only competing with prices is not the best way to separate yourself from the competition. Instead, you can create branding by separating yourself from the competition in other ways such as packaging, advertisements, community building, and much more.

The factors to take into account when creating a brand identity are:

With these elements at play, the brand can better position themselves in the minds of consumers. The goal is to be easily remembered whenever customers want to purchase products. Think of running. What brands come to mind? Or think of exercise? What brands come to mind? The ones that you think of are the ones who BRAND the right way! 

Let’s break it down. The font must be selected according to the brand, since depending on the product or service that you offer, you must handle thick or thin, rigid, or moving typefaces. 

Regarding colors- it has been proven that colors are very important when it comes to positioning yourself in the consumer’s mind because EVERYTHING GOES IN THROUGH THE EYES. You must study very well what is the reaction you want in your audience and what colors will help you awaken this emotion in them.

Lastly, we have the name; it could be said that this element is the one that has the most weight in the consumer’s mind. If your brand is difficult to pronounce, you will run into problems when positioning it online. Or, if it is difficult to remember, the brand will generate confusion for consumers.

Alas, there is no secret to the “Perfect Name,” but it is clear that a short and easy to pronounce name will make it easier to remember; that’s key.

Good branding implies connecting with the emotions of the consumers. Sensory marketing is one of the most effective, and the best means of resonating with people, thus achieving an effective purchase. 

Companies like Starbucks or Coca Cola know that their products are not just what they sell but a bit more! Starbucks does not sell coffee. Look at the community they have created! They built a space where entrepreneurs and creatives can work in a comfortable place while enjoying a good coffee; Coca Cola does not sell soft drinks. They sell happiness and family moments. 

Ask yourself these questions:

Who are you? What do you do? How do you do it? Why do you do it? What’s your objective?

Focus on, Who are you and what do you do? These questions tend to become how others see you as a company. How do you do it and why do you do it, are strategies that you apply within your business to achieve your objectives and goals; it is the connection between your brand and your customers.
